Exterior
Distinct Looks
Both F-150 trims bring a strong bold style with minor differences around the exterior of the truck. The first noticeable difference is the unique grill designs that each have their own personality. Another exterior difference is that the door handles as well as the side-mirrors on the XLT are black plastic while on the Lariat trim they are body color. Strong Grill Designs
The XLT has a slightly sportier design with a thinner chrome bar running across and all black insets. The Lariat has a more classic look with it's larger chrome bar and vertical chrome insets.
Sleek Wheels
Shown here are the standard 17-inch wheels you will find on both the XLT and Lariat. There is also an 18-inch machined aluminum wheel available on 2023 Lariats. Both models have the option to be fitted with 20-inch chrome or dark alloy wheels as well.
Interior and Technology
Comfortable Cabin
Both of these trims have comfortable layouts and durable materials. Each interior does have a unique personality, with the Lariat being the higher-end trim with leather seats. The XLT trim has the 8-inch infotainment system, and the Lariat has the 12-inch infotainment system. However, the XLT can be fitted with the 12-inch infotainment if needed. XLT
The XLT trim has two interior options: Medium Dark Slate or Baja Tan cloth seating. The standard infotainment system is the 8-inch Sync 4 but it can be upgraded to a 12-inch display with navigation.
Lariat
The Lariat has three different options to choose from: Medium Dark Slate, Baja Tan, or Black. The standard infotainment system is the 12-inch Sync 4 with SiriusXM Radio.

Comparison Summary
Both of these trims have great style and capable engines but there is a noticeable step up in features going from XLT to Lariat. The Lariat gives truck buyers great comfort with leather interior and plenty of standard features including the Power-Sliding Rear Window. The XLT is great for customers on a slightly tighter budget. If the features on the Lariat trim don't spike your interest you can save some money and still drive off with a great all-around truck. You could even add a technology package or the chrome appearance package and still be saving money.
