2019 Ford F-150 for sale in Cedar Rapids

The term "modern classic" gets thrown out a lot, but few vehicles are more deserving of that title than the Ford F-150. Consistently rated as America's favorite pickup, the F-150 offers everything a truck lover looks for: power, performance, reliability, and rugged styling. Let's see if the 2019 model measures up to that illustrious history.

Tough Exterior Design

Ford wisely decided to keep the design changes to a minimum with the 2019 F150. This pickup retains the imposing straight lines and boxy styling that have been the hallmarks of this truck since the introduction of an all-new body style on the 2015 model. However, there are some subtle yet effective exterior upgrades available at higher trim levels. If you opt for the sports version of the car you'll get a unique patterned grill while at the top-tier King Ranch and Limited version of the truck come with chrome accents, the latter model also features a revised rear bumper and a more refined integrated dual exhaust system.

In terms of work space, the 2019 F150 offers a variety of bed configurations including a 5.5-feet bed on the base XL and XLT models and larger 6.5 and 8-foot sizes for higher trim levels (Lariat, Premium, King Ranch, and Limited). Regardless of which option you choose, you'll find plenty of room available for your tools and materials. At the end of the day, even the most stripped down versions of the F-150 are made for work.

Ford F-150 Cockpit

The 2019 F-150 is all about customization, and that's most apparent when you step inside the cabin. Ford offers a variety of cab configurations including a two-door cab (optional workbench/bucket seats) on the XL and XLT models, as well as an extended SuperCab that comes with rear-hinges and a back seat. If you're looking for comfort over utility then the four-door SuperCrew configuration offers spacious seating for up to 5 passengers.

As with previous models of the F-150, Ford has provided a wide range of amenities depending on your requirements. If you want to add a high-quality workhorse to your fleet then the basic features (power windows, central locking, CD player, and a rearview camera) are more than enough for your needs. As you move up to higher trims you'll find all the tech you can need including multiple USB charging ports, heated seats, 8.0 inch touchscreen display, SYNC Infotainment System leather upholstery, and large under-seat cargo cubbies that can hold large items quite comfortable. These features extend to the cabin bed where you can opt for a number of helpful add-ons including loading ramps, bed lighting and even a 36-gallon fuel tank for cross-country trips.

Safety in the F-150

The 2019 F-150 is the rare pickup truck that actually provides plenty of safety alongside its muscle. This 2019 model has earned an IIHS Top Safety Pick rating for its driver-friendly features. While the F-150 performs exceptionally well on rollover and crash-tests, the real safety benefits can be found at higher trim levels where you can gain access to cutting-edge tech such as automatic emergency braking, 360-degree cameras, pedestrian detection, and pre-collision assist.
