The 2018 Volkswagen Jetta is Here!

The 2018 VW Jetta is once again becoming one of the most popular sedans in Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. The latest in the line of sedans released from the stable of the German automobile manufacturer is quite roomy when compared to its predecessors and certainly rivals the cabin volume of more illustrious vehicles like the Honda Civic.
Changes Made to the 2018 Jetta:

What's new:
Apart from the observable increase in the room space of the cabin and trunk, the 2018 Volkswagen Jetta also receives other minor alterations that help improve the functionality of the car. Perhaps the most noteworthy is the addition of two trim levels, the SE Sport and the Wolfsburg Edition; and while the GLI trim isn't among those that are replaced, it still manages to lose its manual transmission option.
Trim Options

The engine found in the 2018 Volkswagen Jetta is dependent on the model, which is split into six variants based on the trim level. The S, SE, and Wolfsburg Edition do not have the option of another engine and are, hence, restricted to using only a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 150hp and a torque value of 184lb-ft. The trio are also equipped with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.
The SE Sport and the SEL models both share a similar type of engine and transmission. Equipped with a 1.8-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 170hp and a torque value of 184lb-ft, these models of the 2018 Jetta certainly deliver better efficiency when it comes to speed and power. The GLI trim model is, however, the most impressive of the selection with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine and a dual clutch, 6-speed automatic transmission.

Inside the 2018 Jetta

For a sedan, the 2018 Jetta is quite roomy when compared to other vehicles in its segment. On an average, it is able to comfortably seat five passengers without any issue. Its floor-space is adequate and allows passengers moderately stretch their legs without any hindrance while also harboring lots of rooms for the safekeeping of items. The space around the front seats of the vehicle is pretty much abundant although very tall occupants wouldn't mind some extra headroom.
The features embedded within the interior of the vehicle are in sync with most VW cars even though some of the modifications remain akin to the Jetta brand. The simplicity of the car's interior is a trait equally shared by all models, though the GLI trim seems to be the only variety that actually has some kind of aesthetic influence.
Features in the VW Jetta

Some of the interior features peculiar to the 2018 Jetta are the automatic dual-zone air conditioner, tilting steering column, telescoping steering column, seat adjustments for the front driver and front passenger, climate control, cup holder and an embedded sound system with a 5 inches control screen.
Performance

With the 6-speed manual transmission of the GLI model shafted for a more refined automatic version, it is not difficult to conclude that the model will certainly produce the best performance among other variants of the 2018 VW Jetta.

Acceleration in the newer Volkswagen Jetta models isn't noticeably different from that of previous lineups either with the variants that possess the 1.4-liter engine still as unaspiring as their predecessors that average an accelerating speed of 0 to 60 mph in about 7.4 seconds. The SE Sports, SEL, and GLI models are, however, an upgrade from the basic VW Jetta, and are able to deliver impressive acceleration figures when skillfully driven.
The handling and steering of the new Jetta aren't any different from previous models, with a rear suspension that has always been in use since the 2011 launch of the new generation VW Jettas responsible for the easy feel of the ride.
The Drive

Like most sedans in this segment, the Jetta is an easy drive that doesn't try to do too much when plying the road. The 2018 variants, however, exhibit a bit more in this regard as they have added a little bit of robustness to their road qualities while also maintaining the consistency in the brand's braking attributes. The 2018 Volkswagen Jetta is optimized for performance and the effective accommodation of occupants and items.

I was looking for a car that is going to g t me around town and have low miles and a Bluetooth radio and they did that and more. I drive around a 2000 chevy cavalier and it was time to pass it on to the next family member. Getting my VW Jetta is the best feeling. All the sales staff is friendly and they work with you for what you want. Very thankful for McGrath. Greg from the Dubuque location is great and gets things done that day and even if your on a time frame he'll make sure you can get where you need to be in that time frame. Thank you McGrath for the best experience on buying my first car
