Introducing the 2020 Ford Escape
Modern Improvements
The Ford Escape has been one of America's most popular compact SUVs over the past 10 years and in 2020 received a complete redesign. The new modern look will excite buyers and points to the more modern approach that Ford has been taking with their entire lineup. Also new to the Escape is a plug-in hybrid trim and a new cabin designed with the latest tech. The brand-new Escape is pushing the Ford brand forward with new tech and improved performance in a capable and sleek package.

Exterior

Longer and Leaner
The newly designed 2020 Ford Escape now features a much more modern and muscular design. There were very drastic design changes made to both the front hood and grill as well as changes to the overall shape of the SUV, making it longer and slightly wider.

Stronger Stance
The front of the hood was brought lower, giving the SUV a longer, more aerodynamic shape. The entire vehicle is now 4 inches wider and 2.5 inches longer giving the new escape a more solid stance and athletic body type. The new design is more aerodynamic and has a lower drag coefficient meaning the Escape now has a more efficient shape.
Signature Hexagonal Grill
The new grill of the Escape mimics the signature shape that was first found in the design of the Focus back in 2006. Since then, Ford has featured the hexagonal design in many of its vehicles and now most recently in the Escape redesign. The hexagonal pattern repeats in the gloss black grill insert adding a nice sleek touch to the overall aesthetic.

Modern LED Headlights
The headlights match the long angled shape of the hood and help frame the front of the escape. The headlights are outlined by a crisp body line that runs across the front of the vehicle and gives a sharp shape to the hood. This sharp body line is a style that isn't seen on many current models and gives the Escape a unique design that stands out from the crowd.
Sporty Rear
The rear of the Escape now features a low roof spoiler and an overall very sporty look. The lower sport diffuser and newly designed lights all come together for a sleek and modern appearance. Lastly, an Escape Badge can be found on the rear lift-gate as well that gives the new design a nice signature touch.

Interior

Modern Cabin Design
The newly designed cabin of the 2020 Escape now has a cleaner and more tech forward layout that features a tablet style infotainment system and available 12 inch digital display. The simple, modern design is complemented by high-quality materials including real wood and aluminum accents.

12" Digital Cluster
The Escape's new modern interior now features an available 12.3 inch digital instrument cluster that comes standard on both SE Sport Hybrid and Titanium trim levels. The unique display has a clean interface design and a wide range of customizable preferences. Overall the digital cluster enhances the entire driving experience by displaying all important vehicle readouts in crisp, vibrant layouts.
Tablet Style Infotainment
The new infotainment design is tablet style adding a simple modern touch to the interior. The display fits into the rest of the cabin seamlessly and with the simplified, modern layout, you can easily navigate through driver controls. The infotainment system comes equipped with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for easy connection to your smartphone and all compatible apps.

Brand New Heads-Up Display
New to the 2020 Escape is a heads-up display that clearly describes customizable vehicle read-outs. The H.U.D. not only adds to the modern feel of the interior but also helps keep driver focus on the road ahead and not looking down at the instrument cluster.

Automatic Climate Control
Also, standard on all trims for the first time is automatic climate control. This automatic climate control system reads the temperature of the cabin and will maintain separate temperatures for the driver seat, passenger seat, and rear seats.

Modern Rotary Shifter
Ford elected to go with a new rotary shifter that helps free up space in the center console and adds another modern touch to the driving experience. The rotary shifter is made with gloss black and aluminum accents and fits into the style of the interior well.
Class-Leading Second Row
The newly designed cabin makes great use of space and has a best-in-class second row legroom. The new sliding second row seats allow for impressive space in the second row or can be slid forward to create more cargo space in the rear.

Panoramic Vista Roof
The Panoramic Vista Roof gives the cabin plenty of natural light and runs from above the front seat to the second row headrests. This large sunroof give the cabin a much more open, bright feel and is available on all trims except the base 'S'.

Towing Capability
Ford takes pride in the capability of all their vehicles and it shows with the improvements made to the trailering packages available to the Escape. Now the Escape can tow up to 3,500 pounds with the 2.0L EcoBoost Engine and has two available trailer packages to turn your Escape into a work-horse.
Brand New Plug-In Hybrid
The Brand New Plug-In Hybrid powertrain is available on the SE Sport and Titanium trim levels. The battery can recharge in 3.5 hours with the upgraded 240-volt charger and is able to travel 30 miles without engine use. The plug-in hybrid outputs 209 horsepower and delivers responsive quickness that you won't find in most hybrid vehicles.

Regenerative Braking
The Hybrid and Plug-In Hybrid trims both come equipped with the Regenerative Braking System that uses the car's momentum to recharge the on-board battery. This system captures energy that is usually lost to friction braking and feeds that energy back to the onboard battery. well designed displays show how effective your energy capture was and gives you live updates on the hybrid system.

Automatic Start-Stop
The entire 2020 Escape lineup comes equipped with auto start-stop technology to help reduce fuel consumption and drastically improve fuel-efficiency in the city. The system will turn off the engine when the car is at a standstill and will seamlessly kick it back on when the driver needs to accelerate. This not only helps with fuel-efficiency, it helps make the ride quieter as well.

Battery Improvements
The newly designed on board battery is now two thirds smaller than last years version and fits underneath the rear seat. The placement of the battery in the center of the vehicle helps give the Escape a well-placed center of mass which helps improve handling and overall performance.
AWD Disconnect
The Available AWD disconnect is a new feature added to the Escape that allows for the drivetrain to disconnect from the rear wheel system when AWD is not needed. This system allows for more energy conservation by reducing the drag on the drivetrain when the vehicle is in FWD mode.

What Our Customers Are Saying:
We had a good experience from the time we found this vehicle on-line until I signed the papers. Everyone was knowledgable and a no pressure sales approach. Keagan Verschuure, our sales consultant, was very helpful, friendly and if he didn't know the answer to a question, he got it quickly. I got a GREAT deal! THANKS!!!

This review is for Curtis in used car sales . I am a picky customer to start with. My wife and I where looking for 6 months for a Ford explorer or expedition. Had been to many dealerships from St. Paul MN , to Cedar Rapids IA . I would ask questions about the vehicles that the average sales associate should know and was disappointed. Like timing change noises or other problems. After explaining what "unicorn" I was looking for Curtis went well beyond the call of duty to answer all questions . Even though he was walking with a cane he put himself under the SUV to address my concerns. In conclusion if Curtis moves to another dealership I will find him. This review was delayed by a year .... and I am still happy to write it. Thanks Curtis

Dayton Sumner Formanek Is one hardworking individual. If you are even looking for a particular vehicle let him know he will search high and low and plus he will look for the best vehicle and be honest if the vehicle you are looking at is the wrong fit for you. He will not push you towards a higher priced vehicle he wants the find the exact and perfect fit for you regardless if its 3000 less than another. Believe me when I say he is not your typical car salesman he cares less about the price and more about you. He is truly a friend now. We are probably gonna go get some lunch sometime actually. He talks very little on test drives as he wants you to feel the car and not hear a bunch of chatter. he gives more than 110% to find the best for you.
