For being as popular as it is, Ford hasn't needed to change the face of the Explorer to much. With a few upgrades here and there, it's still keeping itself up-to-date. For example, standard on all models are alloy wheels and privacy tinted rear windows. It's still sporting its large front mesh grille which comes in black if you fancy looking like your local police cruisers. You get your standard Halogen reflector high-beam headlamps with LED low beams, LED tail lamps and configurable daytime running lamps.

3.5L Ti-VCT V6 - This powerful V6 engine is built with a 6-speed automatic transmission that comes standard on all models. Twin independent variable camshaft timing (TI-VCT) allows intake and exhaust valves to adjust independently helping enhance the vehicles performance. Pumping out 290 horsepower and 6,500rpm and 255 lbs of torque.
2.3L EcoBoost Engine - This turbocharger, direct-injection engine (pictured on the right) provides quick responsive acceleration giving you that extra punch when hauling heavy loads. With over 280 horsepower while pushing out 5,600rpm and 310 lbs of torque, this bad boy will get you where you need to go.
3.5L EcoBoost - This best in class V6 engine provides a large amount of torque putting the power in your hands. Turbochargers and direct injection help pump out 365 horsepower at 5,500rpm and about 350 lbs of torque.

Heading inside of the Explorer you are greeted with a spacious cabin area that stretches 200 inches from bumper to bumper. The front seats are your standard 8-way power seats with cloth upholstery. With higher trim levels you can expect leather upholstery. If you want to get real fancy, the Limited trim levels and about are outfitted with Massaging front seats.
In the back you have two rows of seating for five more optional passengers. For passengers in the back there is plenty of room to sprawl out and head room. All of which have capabilities to fold down for a maximum cargo space of 73 cubic feet. With the second row upright you still have 39.2 cubic feet of space. If you're needing to haul a lot of equipment or simply getting groceries, the hands-free foot activated lift gate will come in handy when needing easy access into the vehicle. Pairing with the lift gate, smart key technology unlocks your vehicle without taking out the key fob.

It's always important to feel like you're in control when you're driving. When sitting in the captain's chair you have all the control right in your hands. The 2019 Ford Explorer you have customization over your seats position, tilt, and leg length. With a push of single button, the Explorer will remember what you like best and fit you back to your correct settings upon reentry. With so many trim levels available, Ford makes it tough on you to choose. In the base models comes standard with a 4.2 inch infotainment screen which can be upgraded to an 8.0 screen in the XLT trim. Apply CarPlay and Android Auto are available with a built in Waze app. With higher trim you can expect power-folding third row, and a Sony sound system. All trim levels come standard with seven airbags, pre-collision warning, blind-spot detection, and adaptive cruise control.
