Technical Characteristics
The 2018 Ford F-150 model has a great selection of engines available. One of the engines used is a 3.0-liter diesel V6, reaching 28-30 mpg on highway. The second is a new one: the 3.3-liter naturally aspirated base V6 (290-horsepower), and other two are EcoBoost engines. The final update consists of the latest version of the 5.0-liter V8 (395 horsepower). The engaged technologies assume, among others, start-stop techniques, speed automatic transmissions, dual injections, friction reduction, modern sensors, cruise control functioning on a stop-and-go basis, automatic emergency braking.
Three Engine Options
The second generation 3.5-liter is a direct-injected V6 and its characteristics are 375 HP horsepower, 470 lb-ft torque, and (most important) the reduction in fuel consumption. Another type of engine for 2018 Ford F-150 is the 2.7-literEcoBoost V-6, uses a port- and direct-injection technology and 325HP.
Regarding the last category of engine, the time tested 5.0-liter V-8 improved its performance for torque and horsepower. 395 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft of torque due to twin independent variable cam timing and new direct injection.

Introducing F-150 Diesel Engine
The main surprise in 2018 Ford F-150 is the introduction of the diesel engine. The decision on design and engineering was made based on previous in-house tests. The turbocharged 3.0-liter Power Stroke diesel V-6 for instance is linked to its automatic transmission of 10-speed.
