Performance Overview

Pure Off-Road Performance
The Trail boss has three available engine options. The Custom Trail Boss comes equipped with the 4.3L EcoTec3 V6 with active fuel management. This engine outputs 285 horsepower and 305 lb.-ft. of torque paired with a 6-speed transmission for very capable performance. With the LT Trail Boss you get a 5.3L EcoTec3 V8 with dynamic fuel management that outputs a hefty 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque. This V8 comes with auto start/ stop technology and is paired with an impressive 10-speed transmission for smooth acceleration.
If you are looking for even more power look no further than the class-leading 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 with dynamic fuel management available on the LT Trail Boss. This outputs best-in-class V8 power with 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque for incredible capability including best-in-class 13,400-lb. towing capacity. These incredible engines give truck buyers options that are sure to go above and beyond most needs.

10-Speed Transmission
The 10-speed transmission comes standard on the LT Trail boss and delivers a great driving experience that quickly responds to driver input.

Mud-Terrain Tires
Both Trail Boss trims come standard with 18 inch black wheels and Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac Mud-Terrain tires that give you much more control in rough terrain. Not only do these tires have great functionality, they make the Trail Boss look the part as well for an eye-catching rugged style.
Locking Rear Differential
The automatic locking rear differential gives the Trail Boss unique performance that you won't find in most pickups. This gives a huge mechanical advantage on uneven terrain by locking the rear wheels to rotate together. By doing this you are ensuring that no torque is wasted on a wheel that doesn't currently have traction. For off-roaders and rock crawlers this feature is necessary.

Exterior

Rugged Stance
The newly designed Silverado has a unique combination of modern lighting and a timeless bar grill that stands out on the road. These Silverado trims both have a high-end style that features chrome accents but also have their own unique look. Keep reading to see the main exterior differences between these top-tier trims.
Aggressive Gloss Black Style
Both Trail Boss trims have gloss black grills with red tow hooks but the main difference is the grill design with the Custom trim having Chevrolet spelled out across the grill in place of the normal Chevrolet bowtie. The aggressive style is sure to stand out on the road, especially with the large black wheels and lifted suspension.

Modern LED Lighting
Lighting also sets these two Trail Boss trims apart with the Custom Trail Boss coming standard with the halogen headlights, daytime running lights, and no lower fog lights. Take the step up to the LT and get high-intensity LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, and lower LED fog lights for a crisp, modern look. Shown here is the available Trail Boss Midnight Edition.
Legendary Z71 Status
With the Z71 package you get a factory 2 inch lift among other performance features but don't forget the Z71 badge. The Z71 badge is now a raised decal that marks the pickup off-road ready.
