Since 1952, McGrath has worked to create an automotive experience centered on service, integrity, and doing right by the people and communities we serve.
A Legacy That Started in 1952
What began in 1952 with H.B. McGrath’s Buick dealership in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, soon grew into something much bigger. In 1957, H.B. relocated to Cedar Rapids and opened McGrath Pontiac, beginning a long-standing tradition of serving Iowa drivers with a people-first mindset.
Over the decades, the business continued to grow through new franchises, new locations, and new generations of family leadership. Today, McGrath remains committed to creating a better dealership experience built on trust, transparency, and care.

The McGrath Family of Dealerships officially formed in 1991, and the company has continued to grow while staying grounded in the same principles that started it all.
From H.B. McGrath to Bruce, Pat, and Mike, and now into the fourth generation, the legacy has always been about more than selling vehicles. It is about treating people the right way, building lasting relationships, and continuing a tradition of integrity across every location.
