Last year's redesigned Chevy Equinox introduced us to a lighter more agile version of this classic compact crossover. The 2018 Chevy Equinox retained the spacious interior and feature-packed display of its predecessors and added a turbocharged four-cylinder engine, as well even more fuel efficiency.
This combination of value, performance and quality made it one of the best all-round vehicles in the class. Now, with the 2019 model, Chevrolet is looking to take those improvements one step further.

The 2019 Chevy Equinox carries over the sharp angles and sleek sculpting of the previous model and adds two new colors Pacific Blue Metallic and Kinetic Blue Metallic the 12 already on offer. Like the previous model, the Equinox places just below the Chevy Traverse in terms of size.
This compact crossover is available in four different trim levels: the L, the LS, the LT, and the Premier. With the base model you'll get 17-inch wheels and the signature Chevy daytime LED lamps. Moving up two levels to LT will give you the option to purchase the 2.0-liter engine version of the car which comes with 18-inch Hankook tires, dual exhaust tips and additional HID beams. The Premier-tier Equinox features 19-inch wheels as well as LED headlamps and tail lamps alongside a chrome grille and assist steps for easy entry.

Step inside the 2019 Chevy Equinox and you'll find the same roomy interior and comfort-molded seats. The fully loaded 7.0 inch center mounted touchscreen display has also carried over the new model. This infotainment center supports Apple Play and Android Auto, USB, Bluetooth compatibility, and voice controls.
Moving up to LT will add additional USB slots and Sirius XFM radio into the console. At the Premier tier, owners get a larger 8.0 inch display which features a fully integrated 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, HD Rear Vision, and wireless charging capabilities.

The best thing about the 2019 Chevy Equinox is that provides ample room for customization. Whether your focus is on fuel economy, driving experience or control you can find a model that suits your needs. The L model comes with the same turbocharged 1.5 liter FWD engine as its predecessor, at 170 horsepower and 204-pounds of torque that's more than enough to get you started.
If you're looking for more power then check out the 2.0 liter turbo-four on the LT and Premier tiers. This engine produces 252 horsepower and 260-pounds of torque, so you won't find yourself struggling in any terrain. This version of the SUV also comes with a 9-speed automatic rather than the 6-speed on the L model. At higher tiers you can also opt for AWD, instead of the standard FWD.
If you prefer diesel then go for the 1.6 liter turbo diesel Equinox which is available at LT and above. This version of the Equinox has the rare honor of being one of the first passenger cars in the United States to offer a diesel powertrain. In case that isn't enough to convince you, this version of the SUV also provides expected fuel mileage 32 mpg compared to the 28/29 mpg offered on other versions of the crossover.

Safety Features to Help and Protect
At higher tiers (LT and Premier), the 2019 Chevy Equinox offers an advanced safety features under its Driver Confidence Package. This package includes Front Pedestrian Braking and Adaptive Cruise Control. Premier Equinox owners can further augment these capabilities with the optional Driver Confidence II Package that offers pre-collision warnings and Active Driver Seat technology.

When I moved to Cedar Rapids I was looking for a Tahoe to get me home from UIHC. Working the evening shift, one never knew if Hwy 380 would be clear in the winter or not at all. Many times I was so lucky to follow a single semi as far as the rest stop. You know its bad when there are semi's lined all the way back to the Lake McBride exit. With the purchase of the Tahoe and the excellent care Chevyland gives there customers, I have purchased over the years a lot of Chevyland vehicles, I have always gone to the Sales rep. Mr. John Baker. He's been there at Chevyland for years and years. I have purchased the Tahoe green, Tahoe white, Tahoe red, Cruze skyblue, Sonic grey, Equinox white, then retired from UIHC and just got another Equinox different color (pepper). I would recommend Chevyland always and I would recommend two sales reps John or Nick. For maintains Seva can't be beat he is the best. The maintenance department is run by Clint. He is there and keeps everything in maintenance running like I hate to say but its like clock work. See, you get to know these people, there training is excellent and they treat there customers like family or you could even say guests.
